Beyond Red Blood Cells
In addition to red blood cell production, we have achieved successful growth and differentiation of neutrophilia from umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem cells using the voxelized bioreactor. We have also demonstrated success expanding adult peripheral T cells and natural killer cells.
Media Recycling Module
We have developed a novel method of removing inhibitory cellular waste from culture medium in situ, allowing us to culture differentiating red blood cells (RBCs) at high densities with reduced volumes of fresh medium, significantly decreasing costs. Removed waste products include Ammonia, Lactate, Lactate Dehydrogenase, and others.
Novel Software Platform
Novel software platform developed to monitor environmental conditions, including pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and temperatures within each individual voxel with an automated and adjustable feedback loop.
